MLibrary

The GROCS Program

By providing extraordinary support for exceptional young scholars at the University of Michigan, GROCS illuminates emerging roles for librarians and libraries.

GROCS specifically provides resources for academic activities that advance the MLibrary’s understanding of its role in creating, building, supporting, or preserving scholarly connections as digital technologies change the academic landscape.

GROCS funds are invested in three areas:

  • GROCS Places are MLibrary spaces where programmatic support and “converging technologies” enhance local collaboration and peer-peer learning, especially across disciplines
  • GROCS Project Fellows are young scholars who are uniquely engaged with the tools or resources of their field and have demonstrated a marked capacity to collaborate outside of their fields.
  • GROCS Reflections are studies to interpret results of the program
