GROCS

GROCS awards cash grants to student-initiated research projects that use digital media in an academic activity. Project teams must be interdisciplinary, and one project goal must be to enhance collaboration.

GROCS 2008 selection criteria will be announced September 12, 2007. Project proposals will be due November 1. Four to six projects will be selected in November, for funding during Winter Semester.

Wednesday Afternoon Tea is a weekly gathering of students, faculty and staff sponsored by the Digital Media Commons and GROCS to stimulate creative and spontaneous conversations about the role of digital media in culture and academia. For students, it is an ongoing opportunity to talk about emerging tools, float project ideas, and meet potential collaborators.

GROCS and a few Projects in Residence are housed in Design Lab One. Located in the heart of the Duderstadt Center it is a perpetually evolving space, constantly responding to the interests of students and faculty with diverse skills and perspectives, always with the shared goal to explore the role of digital media in interdisciplinary activity and collaborative learning.
