SHORT TERM LOCKER USE POLICY

Short-term use lockers are located on the second and third floors of the Duderstadt Center. Use of these lockers requires the user to deposit $0.25 (single quarter which is not returned) for each access. Private locks may not be used on these lockers. Any private locks found in use will be removed by the University, and the contents of the locker stored as stated below. A $15.00 replacement fee will be charged for lost keys. The University reserves the right to remove the contents of lockers in use for over 96 hours. Such contents will be stored by the University for six months before being disposed.

LONG TERM LOCKER USE POLICY

Lockers located on the first floor of the Duderstadt Center may be rented for the full length of a semester. To adequately cover costs associated with administration, maintenance, and security of the lockers, there is a non-refundable $15.00 per-semester fee for usage. Users interested in renting a long-term locker must go to the Duderstadt Center Administration Office on the second floor (room 2161) to fill out a locker sign-out form. Payment ($15.00, cash or check) is expected at the time a locker is signed-out. It is recommended that users bring a lock with them when signing out a locker. Listed below are the applicable terms and conditions associated with this service:

Lockers will be signed out to users who are then responsible for the lockers . Users must provide their own locks. . Lockers must be locked at all times. Lockers found with no lock and empty will be reclaimed by the University and made available for public use. . Users are expected to vacate the lockers by the last day of the semester. If they do not, the Duderstadt Center reserves the right to confiscate anything left in the locker and bill the user for this inconvenience.

POLICY FOR ALL LOCKERS

The user of the locker assumes all risks associated with its use, as the University of Michigan is not responsible for the theft or loss of any materials left in the locker. Storing of University owned materials that have not properly been assigned to you is a violation of University policy, and therefore, the University reserves the right to open any locker at any time in order to inspect for missing books or other University materials. They may also do so to investigate odors or sounds coming from the locker, determine if the locker is being used, or for any other safety related purpose determined by the University. The University of Michigan retains ownership and possessory control of the lockers. Lockers will be periodically inspected to determine compliance with these terms and conditions, and violations of University policies will be handled via standard University procedures for students, faculty and staff.
