EQUIPMENT LOANS

The Art, Architecture & Engineering Library offers various special items for checkout, including software, digital cameras, tripods, ethernet cards, wireless internet cards, headphones, slide and negative carriers.

The Digital Media Tools Lab in the Digital Media Commons also has some resources available by prior arrangement through UM faculty to their students, including media conversion facilities (tape format copying, scanners, computer output to film or tape, etc.) and desktop video/audio capture and editing stations. The Digital Media Commons does not provide a checkout service open to the general public. Access to our restricted resources is only available through interaction with Digital Media Commons staff in Room 1358, on the first floor of the Duderstadt Center (tel. 615-5991), as follows:

With supervision and/or training and certification, users can also gain access to a video/performance studio, digital video editing/multimedia suites, two electronic music studios and a fully equipped digital audio recording studio.

The Digital Media Commons also has limited mobile media resources to which faculty working on instructional or research projects with our staff may be granted access. These include analog and DV still and video cameras, audio recorders and a variety of production accessories. Access may also be granted to selected groups of students via appropriate faculty request.

These same resources may be made available to users of the Digital Media Commons presentation/performance spaces (gallery, video studio, etc.) by request through the Scheduling Office, 763-0606.

Any use of any of our resources is dependent on availability or prior commitment.

Individuals or University units with questions about access to these resources and facilities not specifically answered by these guidelines, or wishing to arrange such access, may contact the Digital Media Commons at 615-5991 or by emailing dmc-checkout@umich.edu.
