When you're ready to print
| 1. | Come in at least a day or two ahead of your deadline. Trying to print your poster the day of your presentation just draws the ire of the Fates, and almost guarantees you'll have problems. |
2. |
Give yourself a couple of hours to print your poster. Normally, it doesn't take this long, but this gives you time in case you need to tweak your file. Also, we never know how busy we'll be. We open at 9am and we print posters until 4pm, Monday through Friday. |
| 3. | Bring all your files with you. Along with your poster file, bring copies of your images, graphs, unusual fonts, etc. This helps GroundWorks consultants troubleshoot problematic files. |
| 4. | Know your software. You should be capable with the application you have chosen. GroundWorks Consultants are not able to give you detailed instruction on its use, particularly when others are waiting to preview and print their posters. |
| 5. | Be prepared to pay for your poster. We cannot accept cash. Posters can be paid for with:
Remember, you may not take your poster until you have received a receipt for payment. |
6. |
Bring a poster tube, if you wish. Printed posters are susceptible to damage if mishandled. The ink the plotter prints with is water soluble and can run if exposed to the elements. If you are concerned with transporting your poster, bring a 36 inch long poster tube or other form of transportation. Poster tubes are available for purchase from the book store in Pierpont Commons. |
