SCHEDULING- POLICY

The Duderstadt Center Conference Rooms are available for U-M departments, student organizations, and external use for meetings, workshops, etc. They are not to be scheduled for regular classes or weekly meetings.

If any food or drink is served in the rooms, there is a $25 wear-and-tear fee for each room. The user and/or caterer are expected to leave the room in good condition for the next use, including clearing away dishes, containers, leftovers, etc.

Arrangements for catering, rental and setup of equipment, and cleanup are made through the user's choice of caterer.

Sponsors of any event meeting at which food will be provided that meets one or more of the criteria listed below are required to contact UM-OSEH (phone 647-1142), in advance of their event, to obtain a food permit (provided at no cost). When food is provided by a licensed caterer, an OSEH food license is not required.

Criteria:
* Open to the public.
* Exchanging money for food or charging for food consumed.
* Preparing raw meats or other potentially hazardous foods on
site.
* Serving an extensive selection of foods which require specific
holding temperatures.

For large events, more than 50 people, requiring the use of the Atrium and Connector Hall, the event sponsor must obtain a Plant Department Work Order for Building Services (phone 647-2059). The Work Order number must be provided to the Duderstadt Center Scheduling Office no later than one week prior to the event.

No open flames are permitted.

Serving of alcohol by University-sponsored groups is governed by> University policy. Because of liability concerns, non-University groups may not serve alcohol.

Fund-raisers may be scheduled in the Connector Hall. When applying to reserve space for a fund-raiser, the requestor must provide the Duderstadt Center Scheduling Office with a list of food or other items that will be served. Space for fund-raisers may not be reserved more than four weeks in advance.
