Computer and Video Game Archive

Updated June 17, 2022. The Computer and Video Game Archive (CVGA) is now closed as preparations are underway for its move to the Shapiro Undergraduate Library on Central Campus. Check the CVGA page for information on its status, check their blog “Eaten by a Grue“, or contact them via email: video.games@umich.edu. (Yes, we will all miss having the CVGA at the Duderstadt Center.)

The Computer and Video Game Archive (CVGA) is a special collection of the Art, Architecture, and Engineering Library (AAEL) and a pioneering effort in the collection, preservation of, and access to computer and video games. It is one of the most comprehensive collections in the world containing thousands of games, in most cases playable on their original game devices! It is located in the lower level (basement) of the Duderstadt Center.
