In late fall, Touch of Blue New American Vocal Ensemble recorded a cover of Duke Ellington’s jazz classic Come Sunday using the Duderstadt Center’s Audio Studios.

The piece is a staple in Touch of Blue’s repertoire, and with this recording, the ensemble hopes to share their work beyond their regular concert settings. Listen here.

The Media & Studio Arts (MSA) team who worked on this project include Audio Specialist Matt Girard, and student assistant engineers Palmer Stratton, Emelia Piane, Shantelle Subkhanberdina, Adithya Sastry and Zion Studivant. The post production (editing, mixing and mastering) was completed by Matt Girard.

Our MSA team works hard to support our users and produce the best possible outcome for our student performers. Appreciation for that work is evidenced below.

“Touch of Blue Vocal Ensemble had a wonderful time working in the Duderstadt Center with the studio team. They were extremely helpful, flexible, and understanding. They were eager to assist us in producing great project results every step of the way. The studios were lovely and the team, as well as the student producers, made all of our ensemble members feel very comfortable. A special thank you to Matthew Girard for really going the extra mile to help our group complete this project. We appreciate everyone at the Duderstadt Center studios and we hope to work with you all again in the future!”
