Call for Submissions!
The Take Care Student Exhibition will travel and be displayed at Riverbank Arts (U-M Flint) in January & February, and at the Duderstadt Center Gallery (U-M Ann Arbor’s North Campus) in April 2025. Receptions will take place in both Ann Arbor and Flint to celebrate and honor selected artists. Submissions are open to all undergraduate and graduate students on all U-M campuses— Ann Arbor, Dearborn, and Flint— who are enrolled for the 2024–25 academic year. This exhibition welcomes artwork from students of all backgrounds and areas of study. Students do not need to be studying art or have any formal training in artmaking to apply.
ACCEPTED MEDIUMS: The exhibition is open to visual art of all forms (both 2D and 3D art), video, performance, and literary arts.
THEME: Artwork should engage with the Take Care AY 2024–25 focus in one or more of the following ways:
- Caring for oneself and others during challenging times
- Self and community-healing as a form of collective resilience
- How “taking care” and self-expression can help create a world we all want to live in

Looking for inspiration? Join one of the many free art-making workshops!
The Arts Initiative, in partnership with Wolverine Wellness, is launching a series of free art-making workshops for the Take Care academic year 2024-25 focus. These workshops are an opportunity to create art, brush up on dance techniques, and other artistic forms. No prior experience required. Led by local and regional artists, the workshops are open to the entire U-M and local community. All supplies necessary will be provided at the workshop.
