Duderstadt Center Gallery
See what it feels like to live through war as part of your daily life with immersive VR. Developed by Duderstadt Center staff member Sara Eskandari and visiting professor Joseph Sywenkyj, this room-scale virtual reality documentary recreates the harrowing experience of being at home in Kyiv, during a large-scale Russian drone and missile attack.
The project uses 6DoF (six degrees of freedom) technology, allowing participants wearing a VR headset to walk, lean, and move freely through the space. Every shift in perspective mirrors real-world motion, creating a powerful sense of presence and reality.
Visit the DC gallery to experience this special VR documentary, and “Between Voice and Silence” an exhibition featuring the beautiful work of 3 Ukrainian artists working through the war.
