Last Friday, DC staff member Marjorie Gaber led the final workshop of the semester, “Intro to Sewing”, in Design Lab 1. Participants learned sewing machine basics and simple hand-sewing techniques—and many walked away with their own handmade mini projects to celebrate their new skills.
This year, Design Lab 1 hosted 15 workshops and events, welcoming 81 attendees. Six of these workshops were proudly led by our talented student staff. Among the most popular events were “Craft and Chill” (January), “Printmaking” (April), “Intro to Sewing” (September), and the “Squirrel Hall of Fame Award Ceremony” (November).
