This past Saturday, June 13th, the University of Michigan’s Duderstadt Center Studio Production staff won multiple Emmy awards from the 2026 National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, the Michigan Chapter. They were awarded for their outstanding work on How Do We Begin, a 49-minute film created by the Center for Research on Learning and Teaching Players (CRLT Players) and filmed at the Duderstadt Center’s Video Studio.

The film won a total of four categories, with two of the four Emmy categories won by Duderstadt staff: full-time staff Patterson McKinney and Catherine Miller won Photographer for Long Form Content, and student staff member Renata Schmult won Audio Recording, Mixing and Design.

The CRLT Players also took home the other two categories that night for How Do We Begin, with Jonathan West winning Writer for Long Form Content, and Jacqui Blue winning Director for Long Form Content, totalling four for the project.

Congratulations to the well-deserved 2026 Michigan Emmy recipients and nominees!
