In-person Instruction

Pocket Production (60-90 minutes)
The best camera you can possibly have is the one you have on hand when you need it. The Pocket Production lecture/demo teaches strategies for using your mobile device to capture great quality sound and picture. Learn camera techniques, lighting, shot composition, sound integration, and how to approach story creation. These standard practices are applicable to any camera you choose for your production, whether it be a phone, DSLR, video camera or studio camera. Pocket Production can be presented in any room with a projector and sound system.
Introduction to iMovie (2 hours)
In this hands-on workshop students will learn to edit a video with Apple’s complimentary application. The workshop covers importing media, working with a timeline, editing audio, applying transitions and effects, and sharing the video. This workshop takes place in our 3rd floor Advanced Training Labs. Media is provided.
The instructors also offer a 45-minute lecture/demo version that can be conducted in your classroom. It does not include the hands-on activities, but will introduce students to iMovie’s interface and the resources for support at the Duderstadt Center. This workshop can occur in any room with a projector and sound system.
Introduction to Final Cut Pro X (2 hours)
This hands on workshop includes creating your project, importing video, editing your project, working with titles, transitions and effects, editing audio, and exporting (sharing) your video. This workshop takes place in our 3rd floor Advanced Training Labs. Media is provided.
Introduction to Garageband (90 minutes)
Looking to do a little recording? Apple’s Garageband is incredibly simple to use. Learn how to record, edit, mix and share your audio project using Apple’s complementary audio editing tool. This workshop takes place in our 3rd floor Advanced Training Labs. Media is provided and you can create along with the instructor.

This workshop can occur in any room with a projector and sound system.
Introduction to Editing with Adobe Premiere Pro (3 hours)
This 3-hour hands-on workshop offers a ‘how-to’ in project creation using Premiere Pro. Material covered includes: working with media, editing your timeline, applying effects and transitions, titling, working with audio, color correction and exporting a project file. The workshop takes place in our 3rd floor Advanced Training Labs. Media is provided.
