Shifting Perceptions Through Light: Lighting for Dance

Description: Mary Cole will do a brief introduction of lighting terminology and instrumentation. Showing how using the Duderstadt Center Studio lights, Mary Cole can change how light affects what we see, feel, hear and even how we perceive objects when the lighting of it changes.


Presenter Bio:

Mary Cole has served as a Lecturer, Lighting Designer, Stage Manager and Technical Director for the University of Michigan’s Department of Dance and Ann Arbor Dance Works since 1985. She has done numerous theatrical and dance lighting designs throughout the local area in the past 40 years. Cole received her Bachelor of Science in Dramatic Arts from Eastern Michigan University and did graduate work in lighting design at the University of Michigan.
