28th Annual Exhibition of Artists in Michigan Prisons

28th Annual Exhibition of Artists in Michigan Prisons

RECENT EVENT: Duderstadt Center Gallery
March 19th — April 2nd, 2024

The 28th Annual Exhibition of Artists in Michigan Prisons, a project of the Prison Creative Arts Project (PCAP) at the University of Michigan, showcases the work of artists incarcerated in Michigan prisons.

The work is by men and women from 24 state prisons in both the upper and the lower peninsulas: 23 men’s prisons and 1 women’s prison. This year there are 750 works of art by 490 artists in two and three dimensions, including portraits, tattoo imagery, landscapes, fantasy, and wildlife as well as images about incarceration and visions that are entirely new.

We invite you to enjoy the work, write to the artists, and if you like, make a purchase. All proceeds, minus necessary taxes and fees, go directly to the artists. More information is available on the PCAP website.

Presented with support from U-M Residential College & Michigan Arts and Culture Council.
